113 Chapter Remix
Today I sold a new Twinmaker story to Lightspeed. “The Life of Riley” is kind of a break-up story, but the romance is far from a normal one. Several of my Twinmaker stories are romances. “Incomplete No.7” definitely is, and so is “All the Wrong Places”, which is due soon in Jonathan Strahan’s Meeting Infinity. This unintended triptych explores different aspects of, uh, one of the stranger relationships possibilities d-mat makes possible. More on that later.
The other thing I’ve done this week is load an alternate draft of book one up into Wattpad, where it will be available for free soon. (This is the draft that later became the much shorter “I, Q”.) Originally called Making and Remaking Iteration 113, I’ve shorted that back to just 113 and broken it into lots of little instalments, each with its own chapter title. Loving as I do the idea of breaking this story apart and putting it back together in many different ways, it occurred to me that the list of chapter titles forms a kind of beat synopsis of the entire book, which I’ve pasted below.
